SIL providers had to apply for registration by 1 October 2026

From 1 July 2026, supported independent living and NDIS platform providers moved to mandatory registration. Quantum Care does not deliver SIL.

Supported independent living (SIL) is help with daily life for someone who lives in their home with support built around that household. It is not the same as a support worker visiting for a few hours of cleaning, personal care, or community access.

From 1 July 2026, the NDIS Commission’s registration rules changed for two groups: providers delivering SIL, and providers operating NDIS digital platforms. The Commission’s reform hub sets out the new SIL practice standards and the mandatory registration rules. An NDIA notice dated 30 June 2026 described the same change: new SIL and platform providers need to be registered, and unregistered SIL providers had to apply by 1 October 2026 or stop providing SIL.

What to ask if you already have SIL

Ask the SIL provider whether they are registered for SIL, or whether they lodged a registration application by 1 October 2026. If you have a plan manager, ask them what they need to see before they pay a SIL invoice. Do not rely on a logo on a website.

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has a plain overview of the wider registration changes on its NDIS amendments page.

What this is not

Quantum Care does not provide SIL. It is listed on what’s next as something we would only consider after registration. It is not bookable today. Our current supports are daily living and personal care, cleaning and gardening, community access, and transport, for self-managed and plan-managed participants.
